The majority of men and women notice that their hair gets significantly thinner as they age. In the past, people tried to treat baldness with alternative medicine methods or put up with this issue, but today we have hair transplantation—a quick and efficient option.
Hair transplantation is a technique which aims to restore hair thickness and correct the hairline.
Grace Clinic uses Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) hair transplant method. A donor material unit with one or more hair follicles used for hair transplantation is called a graft (a strip of skin containing hair). The surgeon uses a special tool to extract each graft separately and insert it into a new site. Transplanted grafts aren’t rejected because they’ve been taken from the same body. Transplanted hair retains its natural characteristics, such as colour, structure, growth rate and, where applicable, degree of waviness.
This is an outpatient, minimally invasive, and virtually painless procedure being performed under local anaesthesia.
All FUE surgeries have a common protocol:
• Stage 1—individual grafts are removed using a microsurgical instrument (a punch) and processed;
• Stage 2—grafts are implanted (placed) in a predetermined checkerboard pattern) with an implanter pen.
There can be more than one grafting sessions if the patient has enough own donor material (hair transplanted from one person to another will be rejected).
The transplanted follicles will begin growing hair 2 to 3 months following the procedure. The final transplantation result will be permanent and achieved in about a year.
