As the central and most prominent point of your face, your nose together with its size and shape impacts the way you look and feel. In some cases, only nasal plastic surgery will help fix functional problems, get rid of aesthetic imperfections, boost self-confidence, enhance career prospects, and improve your personal life.
Today, we perform the following types of nasal surgery:
Septoplasty
This is functional nasal plastic surgery which restores the correct anatomical shape to the nasal septum. Septoplasty helps normalize nasal breathing. For this purpose, the surgeon performs a submucosal resection and repairs defects in the nasal septum (spurs and ridges). Surgical and endoscopic septoplasty procedures are the most common modern types of such surgery.
Rhinoplasty
This is surgery which primarily aims to repair aesthetic defects in the nose shape and size and restore (reconstruct) the missing fragments or the entire nose. In some cases, you need to undergo second aesthetic or reconstructive nasal plastic surgery, i.e. revision rhinoplasty.
The modern types of rhinoplasty are as follows:
• Nasal tip reshaping surgery
• Nasal dorsum reshaping surgery
• Columella reduction/elongation surgery
• Ala and nostril reconstruction surgery
• Augmentation rhinoplasty.
There are two rhinoplasty techniques—open and closed—by the degree of invasiveness. Open rhinoplasty is more injurious due to the vessel and nerve transection in the columella, while closed rhinoplasty is free of such drawback, leaves no visible scars, and takes less time to recover and get back on track.
Rhinoseptoplasty
If your external nose and nasal septum are deformed, both septoplasty and rhinoplasty are required. In this case, we simultaneously perform both types of nasal surgery under general anaesthesia.
